OPLO's curriculum is organized into two integrated training blocks — Force Application and Life Preservation — covering every certification a Texas private security officer needs, all under one training house.
Develops officers across all levels — equipping them to apply force lawfully, use equipment effectively, and perform with discipline in real-world security environments.
Establishes the legal and professional foundation of private security — covering authority, limitations, and officer responsibility.
Develops armed security capability — integrating firearms proficiency, use of force decision-making, and applied defensive tactics.
Advances officers into personal protection operations — focusing on client safety, threat assessment, and protective movement.
Trains officers in the lawful deployment of chemical agents — providing a critical intermediate force option on the use-of-force continuum.
Builds hands-on control skills — allowing officers to manage subjects safely and effectively without escalating force unnecessarily. Covers ASP-ABC, baton, cuffing, tactical flashlight, OC and decontamination.
Prepares officers to respond to active threats, control critical injuries, and operate within the law — ensuring they can act decisively when seconds matter.
Prepares security officers to respond to active threats with clarity, control, and purpose — equipping them to protect lives before law enforcement arrives.
Equips security officers to control life-threatening hemorrhage with speed, precision, and confidence — enabling them to preserve life in the critical minutes before EMS arrives.
Establishes the legal authority and responsibility to carry a handgun — training officers to operate with discipline, control, and full accountability in the use of deadly force.
When violence erupts, the gap between the first shot and the first responder is measured in lives. AVERT closes that gap. Officers learn to recognize, respond to, and control active violence events — integrating threat neutralization with immediate trauma intervention for the critical minutes that decide outcomes.
A hands-on, physically demanding course built to develop real capability. Force is applied only when justified — but when it is, it must be decisive, controlled, and defensible.
This course is physically demanding. Students should arrive prepared. Hydration is mandatory — bring your own water source. Expect sustained physical activity and stress exposure.
OPLO trains across every platform a modern security professional may put hands on — from concealed handgun to long gun, low-light to blade. The standard is fluency, not familiarity.
Draw, present, and fight from concealment to retention. Pistol fundamentals through advanced manipulation under stress.
AR-15 / M4 platform proficiency. Zeroing, transitions, malfunctions, and shooting on the move under realistic load.
Pump and semi-auto platforms. Shell management, slug-to-buck transitions, and combative use at engagement distance.
Working under reduced light: flashlight technique, weapon-mounted lights, and exposure to night vision platform principles.
Empty-hand control, weapon retention, edged-weapon awareness, and the reality of distance, cover, and movement.
